What a firework display costs, and how long it should be
We design the show around a budget you are comfortable with, rather than a flat price per minute, and we always guide you on what works best.
Honest pricing, no price-per-minute guesswork, and displays known for having no gaps.
How we think about price
There is no single price for a firework display, because so much depends on your event, your location and your audience. What we will always do is guide you on what works best, and design a show around a figure you are comfortable with. Displays start at £999 including VAT, and from there the budget shapes the size and number of fireworks in your show.
Why we do not just quote a price per minute
A lot of companies will tell you a display costs somewhere between £100 and £1,000 a minute. It is a quick answer with not much thought behind it. We would rather understand your event first, because the same budget can produce a very different show depending on the venue and the brief.
How we arrive at the right figure
It works one of two ways. You can tell us what you want to spend and we will design a display to suit, or we can ask you a few questions and build it from there:
- What type of event are you organising
- How many people will be there
- What duration you have in mind
- The date of your display
- Where it is being held
A site survey can affect the price too. If we are firing from behind tall trees or another tall structure, for example, that may rule out certain lower-level fireworks, and that feeds into the design. As a general rule, the more budget you have, the bigger the fireworks and the more of them in your show.

Longer is not always better
Spending more does not mean stretching the display out. We would rather a show had real impact and left a lasting impression than ran on too long and started to feel flat. The same budget over a shorter, tighter display almost always looks more exciting.
We think a display should not run longer than around 20 minutes unless there is a special reason, and the right length really depends on your budget and the impact you are after. Since we started in 1996 we have gathered a good sense of the most popular lengths by event type:
| Type of event | Typical duration |
|---|---|
| Guy Fawkes displays | 12 to 20 minutes |
| Product launches | 3 to 6 minutes |
| Weddings and special occasions | 4 to 7 minutes |
| Corporate events | 8 to 12 minutes |
| Christmas lights and New Year’s Eve | 5 to 10 minutes |
| Festivals, balls and concerts | 5 to 12 minutes |
For the record, the shortest display we have ever fired was 45 seconds, the opening to a corporate party, and the longest was 30 minutes for a council. Both were exactly right for the occasion.
Why our value stands up
Because we import our own fireworks, we are highly cost effective compared to companies that do not, so more of your budget goes into the show. We are also known for firing displays with no gaps from start to finish, which a lot of clients tell us is noticeably more skilful than the companies they used before.
A few things people ask
Displays start at £999 including VAT. The right figure depends on your event, your audience and the effect you want, and we design the show around a budget you are comfortable with.
No. A flat price per minute ignores the things that actually shape a display, so we ask about your event first and design from there.
It depends on the budget and the impact you want, and we usually advise no longer than around 20 minutes. The list above shows typical lengths by event type.
Not necessarily. More budget usually means bigger fireworks and more of them, rather than a longer show, because impact matters more than length.
Yes. Importing our own fireworks makes us more cost effective, so more of your budget ends up in the display.
